Routes combine first-hand notes, rider feedback, map review and official road-authority or tourism sources. We use software, including AI, during research and editing, but a named editor reviews the facts and wording before a fully developed route guide is indexed.

There is no single winner, but the Alps spanning Italy, Switzerland, Austria and France consistently rank highest for combined density of scenic, technical and well-paved roads. Spain (Pyrenees, Andalusia), Norway (fjords) and the Dolomites are the next-strongest contenders.

Late June through September is the safest window for high mountain passes. May and early October are quieter but bring closures and cold mornings at altitude. Southern Spain, Sicily and the Algarve work well from autumn through early spring.

Most routes on this site are paved and ride well on sport-tourers, adventure bikes, naked bikes and even cruisers. Where a route includes gravel, narrow lanes or extreme altitude, we say so explicitly in the route guide so you can match it to your bike and skill level.

Yes. We actively encourage submissions from experienced riders. Use the Submit a Route page and include distance, road surface, fuel stops and any seasonal hazards. We verify before publishing and credit the contributor.
